Who are you accountable to? Accountability is one of the foundation stones of success. When one rises through the ranks of a company they are accountable to their direct management. The higher you go up the ladder, you become more and more accountable to the customer. At every level we are accountable to the customer, but of all that you are accountable to, which is most important? In my life I am accountable to my wife and my son over all else. As I work towards success, however, they are not undermining and plotting against it. Instead they support and encourage and so momentum toward the goal happens.
Be careful that you do not miss what lies beyond the horizon because you choose to play it safe in your life.
Last year around Christmastime I read the book A Complaint Free World: How To Stop Complaining And Start Enjoying The Life You Always Wanted by Will Bowen.
It's a sweet book written by a minister who realized that by not complaining his entire world shifted, and so too did the lives of his congregation. (Law of Attraction, anyone? :)
Confucius said, “When you meet a noble person, emulate them. When you meet an evil person, look within.” But why? Because you only ever do unto others what you’ve done to yourself already. Conversely, you do to yourself what you’ve done to others. Both are equally true, as well as equally telling.
The thing about the chaos of healing is how tricky it is. It masquerades as real stuff. I think of myself as pretty savvy and sophisticated when it comes to the crisis of “healing”, “growing”, learning”, whatever word you want to use to describe that really uncomfortable and painful jump into the unknown of being a better person. So I was pretty surprised when after four days of looking at the facts and considering all aspects …..”I got nuthin”. “Maybe this time all the ground clutter is real?!” That aforementioned thought led me to reconsider some of my core beliefs. Maybe I needed to change some things…..
To arrive at your "Personal Year Number", or an explanation of what you might be able to expect in the upcoming year, take the sum of your birth month and day, and add it to the "World Number" which is the sum of the digits of the year (in other words, 2012 would add up to 5). You then reduce this sum to a single digit. The resulting number tells you--in a cycle of nine years--where exactly you are in your life cycle, and what you might anticipate as a result.
A mantra is a sound, syllable, or group of words which, when recited, are regarded as capable of producing spiritual transformation (or so says Wiki). Actually, mantra is a word common in the eastern world and is itself made up of two words: man meaning "mind," and tra meaning "instrument." So, a mantra is "an instrument of the mind."
The New Year is a time when many of us decide things need to change. As you reflect on the year just passed, step onto the scale, pull on a tight pair of jeans or set goals for your career or business, it becomes obvious that doing what you’ve done in the past probably won’t result in the dreams you have for a better future. Change, nevertheless is the hardest thing for most of us to truly embrace. It requires paying attention, letting go of old habits, losing the comfort of the past while stepping into new behaviors that do not yet feel normal.
